BESPOKE ALCOVE SHELVING &
BUILT-IN CUPBOARDS

Our alcove shelving and cupboards are made to fit your space, the style of the room, and how you want to use it. Painted, veneered, floating or fitted shelves, traditional or modern, it’s all tailored to suit and fit seamlessly into the space.

OUR APPROACH

Alcoves can be awkward spaces, but we really enjoy working with them. They’re often overlooked or filled with something that doesn’t quite fit, so it’s satisfying to design shelving that actually works for the room and makes use of every bit of space.

We build everything from scratch, so we can work around whatever’s already there whether that’s period mouldings, uneven walls, or a particular feature you want to highlight. Shelves can be fitted or floating, and we use a range of finishes: painted, veneered, melamine…whatever suits the look and feel of your home. Lighting can be built in too, for a bit of warmth or to gently light objects on display.

Someone once said that we “blend traditional principles and techniques with contemporary touches and one-of-a-kind details” and we think that’s a pretty good way to describe our approach. We're not trying to reinvent the wheel; we just want the end result to feel solid, well thought-through, and right for you.

BENEFITS OF ALCOVE SHELVING

1. MAKES USE OF A DIFFICULT SPACE

Alcoves are often tricky to furnish with off-the-shelf pieces. Custom shelving makes the most of these spaces, turning them into something functional and attractive.

2. ADDS CHARACTER & DEPTH TO YOUR ROOM

Built-in shelving gives your room architectural interest and a sense of permanence especially when it complements period features like fireplaces or original mouldings.

3. PROVIDES FLEXIBLE STORAGE

Alcove shelving offers a perfect mix of open space for books and ornaments, with hidden storage for less aesthetic items or clutter, helping keep living spaces tidy and interesting at the same time.

We love our new bespoke alcove cabinets. Douglas is very professional and friendly. He worked with us to create a design we love. The installation took only 2 days and the result is amazing. I highly recommend Tekton Interiors."
